WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A woman who ventured out too far on the frozen ice near a large Westminster hotel had to be rescued by fire crews late Tuesday night.

A Westminster Fire spokesperson confirmed that a call reporting the incident came in around 11:40 p.m., and when authorities arrived on the scene in the 10600 block of Westminster Boulevard, which is near the Westin Hotel, they found a 30-year-old women had plunged through the ice in a pond.

Divers were called on scene to help pull the woman out of the water, with authorities estimating she was stuck for approximately 10 minutes.

When crews were able to haul the woman out, she was treated for mild hypothermia and transported to a nearby hospital.
