AURORA, Colo. — With less than a week to go until Christmas, Denver’s chapter of the nonprofit Toys for Tots program is reporting a sharp drop in donations.
The group, which helps supply toys and games for several Denver charities, is hoping its call for help will result in a last minute rush of gifts.
“There’s a lot of people in need, this is such a blessing for the ones that are less fortunate.” said Selena Davis, a church volunteer who showed up at an Aurora warehouse to pickup donated items.
On Thursday, the Denver Toys for Tots program said it had enough toys for babies and toddlers but was still in desperate need for toys for boys and girls six years old and up.
The group is also asking for volunteers to help with separating and distributing donated items at the Aurora warehouse.
