Colorado Rockies co-owner pleads guilty to DUI charges

Charlie Monfort

DENVER — Colorado Rockies co-owner Charlie Monfort pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI charges Friday morning, and has been sentenced to 24 months of supervised probation.

Monfort, a Greeley native, was arrested in November on suspicion of drunken driving. He was pulled over for going 10 to 20 mph over the speed limit.

He did not appear for his originally scheduled court date of Nov. 19, delaying the case until Friday.

Monfort’s probation includes alcohol rehabilitation, 120 hours of public service and 45 days of electronic home monitoring with a TAD (Transdermal Alcohol Detector).

Under the agreement, he is also required to take at least two breath tests daily with a Soberlink device.
