EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — We are learning more about the monumental task of securing the Super Bowl.

Security teams from New York, New Jersey, the FBI and the NFL have spent the last few years designing a plan to keep fans safe at Met Life Stadium.

More than 4,000 police and security forces will be on site on February 2.

The stadium isn’t the only place they’ll be watching.

Federal agents will keep a close eye on New York’s famous bridges, buildings and harbor. “The primary role for the FBI during Super Bowl 48 is to protect and defend against terrorist threats,” a spokesman said during a news conference Wednesday.

The Super Bowl security plan also includes bomb sniffing dogs, metal detectors and a mobile hospital complete with a surgery ward.
