Police search for suspect in attempted auto theft

DENVER — A man attempted to steal a vehicle from the Denver School of the Arts vicinity Friday afternoon, according to Denver police.

At approximately 3 p.m., the suspect tried to steal a car from 7111 E. Montview Blvd, said police.

The driver suffered minor injuries, as the suspect tried to pull him from the car, police reported.

Detectives described the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, about 5-foot-10 and having braids in his hair. The suspect fled the scene and was last seen running through the alley between Roslyn and Rosemary Streets.
