1 killed, 1 injured in Brighton shooting prompted by family dispute

BRIGHTON, Colo. -- One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting at a home in Brighton early Saturday morning, according to the Brighton Police Department.

Police responded to the 3500 block of Hottman Street in Brighton at approximately 1:50 a.m. Saturday, where they found two adult males with gunshot wounds.

A 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and another man, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to an area hospital, police said.

Detectives said the shooting was prompted by a family dispute, and added that the incident remains under investigation.
