COLUMBIA, Md. — Three people died after a shooting at a Maryland mall Saturday, and one of the victims had a Colorado Springs connection, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
Brianna Benlolo, 21, was killed Saturday when a gunman entered Zumiez, a store at the suburban mall where Benlolo worked, reported the Gazette.
Benlolo’s Facebook profile stated that she attended Sand Creek High School in Colorado Springs.
The gunman also shot and killed 25-year-old Tyler Jonson of Ellicott City, Md. and then himself, police said. Five others were injured.
Howard County Police Chief William J. McMahon said it wasn’t clear as to whether or not the gunman and the victims knew each other. He added that police worked to get people out of the mall quickly, and detectives interviewed witnesses outside.
