COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado’s number one sex offender fugitive was arrested Wednesday in the Colorado Springs area, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced in a release.
Roger Dale Price, 61, was arrested by El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies with the help of agents from the Social Security Administration Wednesday in the 3200 block of International Circle, said CBI.
The arrest occurred just before 8 a.m. without incident.
CBI analysts said they received a lead about Price’s whereabouts, and coordinated with SSA and El Paso County law enforcement to apprehend the fugitive.
Price had been convicted on a number of counts of kidnapping and sex assault against a child in 1999 in Arkansas, said CBI. He also had a felony warrant due to his failure to register as a sex offender in El Paso County.
The sex offender was listed as the most wanted individual on Colorado’s 100 Sex Offender Fugitive List.
Price is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail without bond, said CBI.
The state-wide investigative unit added that there have been two other arrests made from the wanted-persons list in the past week.
Eugene Parker, 31, was arrested by the Colorado State Patrol. And the Denver Police Department nabbed 68-year-old Apolonio Florez.
