SOCHI, Russia — Todd Lodwick of Steamboat Springs received another Olympic honor Wednesday, when it was announced that he would be the one to lead Team U.S.A. into the stadium during Friday’s Opening Ceremonies.
According to Steamboat Today, Lodwick was named the official flag bearer for Team U.S.A.
The athlete has competed as a Nordic combined skier in six different games, making his Olympic debut at the Albertville, France games in 1992.
Winning the Olympic Trails in December 2013, qualified him for a spot on Team U.S.A in Sochi.
In mid-January, he had an accident during the World Cup competition in France and injured his shoulder.
Despite the injury, Lodwick said he will still compete in the Nordic combined team event in Sochi, which is scheduled for Feb. 20 at the RusSki Gorki Jumping Center.
