WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities in Weld County found two bodies Friday and are trying to determine if they are related to a double kidnapping from Thursday.

The first body was found around 11 a.m. Friday, said the Weld County Sheriff’s Department.

One body was found at Weld County Roads 4 and 17.  The second was found on WCR 15 between WCR 2 and 4 around 1:30 p.m.  Deputies have not identified either person, said Bureau Chief Steve Reams.

It’s not yet known if the discovery may be related to a double kidnapping that happened in Weld County Thursday.

“It’s an obvious concern due to the earlier kidnapping investigation in the area,” Reams told the Denver Post. “We’re not 100 percent sure this incident is related to the earlier one. It has all the appearances that it is connected.”

Reams said one of the bodies was found in an irrigation ditch. Because of the cold temperatures, the body was frozen in the water and will be difficult to move without disrupting critical evidence.
