FBI hunts for suspect in Aurora, Denver bank robberies
DENVER — The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Wednesday it is looking for a suspect involved in two bank robberies, one in Denver and another in Aurora.
According to a release sent from the Denver FBI office, the Aurora and Denver Police Departments have joined forces with the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force to investigate two bank robberies, which the agencies believe were committed by the same individual.
FBI officials said the first robbery occurred at the Chase Bank at 14601 E. Colfax Ave. in Aurora on Feb. 3 at approximately 11:50 a.m.
They second robbery was at the TCF Bank at 18520 E. Green Valley Ranch Blvd. in Denver on Monday at 11:20 a.m.
For each incident, FBI officials said the male suspect entered the bank, presented a demand note and then fled the scene.
Detectives described the suspect as a black male, age 20 to 30, 5-foot-8 to 6-foot, about 160 to 200 pounds, with a thin build and mustache.
