Police identify suspect in Fountain Safeway robbery

FOUNTAIN, Colo. — Fountain police have a man in custody in connection with a grocery story robbery.
On Friday, police said they began an robbery investigation at a Safeway grocery store at 6925 Mesa Ridge Parkway in Fountain.
Through the initial investigation, officers said they learned that the suspect had approached a female store employee and handed her a note — the note demanded money from the cash register and said he had a gun.
The store employee agreed to his demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of money, said police. He then fled the scene on foot.
Detectives continued to investigate throughout the evening, during which they received a number of tips from the public.
Police said these tips helped them identify 30-year-old Ryan Michael Nadon of Fountain as a suspect in this case
Saturday morning, a search warrant was executed at Nadon’s residence, said detectives. Nadon was taken into custody, charged with aggravated robbery and then transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
The Fountain Police Department reported that the arrest occurred without incident, and thanked the public for its assistance in the investigation.
