DENVER — Denver and Aurora police are searching for a child sexual assault suspect, who has been evading law enforcement for over a week, authorities said.

On Thursday, the Denver Police Department said they have identified 44-year-old Bronson McDowell as a suspect in a 2014 sexual assault case on a child.

McDowell is registered as a sex offender from a 1994 child sexual assault case in Arapahoe County, said DPD.

Police added that he is also registered as a homeless person with the Aurora Police Department.

DPD described McDowell as a black male, about 5-foot-5 and 170 pounds.

The suspect requires medical attention for kidney disease, and routinely visits facilities that provide medical treatment for the homeless, said DPD.

Detectives said they have reason to believe there are other victims who have yet to come forward.

Anyone with information about McDowell’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
