NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans police detective has become famous thanks to viral videos of him dancing the Wobble during Mardi Gras.

Winston Harbin’s dance moves went viral Tuesday after passersby recorded him dancing and posted the video on YouTube.

The 17-year veteran officer was working a 14-hour shift During Lundi Gras, along the Canal Street parade route, when he joined in on an impromptu wobble, reported WGNO-TV.

“It just sometimes it possesses you sometimes, you just wobble on demand,” Harbin said.

“Its fun, it’s rewarding in that sense to know that the simple act such as the dance, a little music, can unite a group of people, it’s great.”
