DENVER — Another big weather change is heading our way.

A cold front will slide down the eastern plains of Colorado and through the Denver area early Tuesday.

Temperatures will start off in the 40s before quickly crashing into the 20s by late afternoon. The wind will be strong from the north as the front passes.

There will be snow. Right now it will start as a brief rain shower before changing to a period of snow for about 3 to 5 hours.

Accumulation in metro Denver area looks to be between 1 to 2 inches. There may be some spots south and west of downtown that could get a few more inches.

Skies will clear quickly Tuesday night as temps head down into the teens.

Then it’s back to fairly quiet and warm weather for the rest of the week and weekend ahead.
