PROVO, Utah — A Utah man’s dance skills were getting a lot of attention online after he lost a game of basketball — and a bet — to his younger brother for the first time.
According to Andrew Wilcox’s YouTube account, the stakes were simple: “Loser had to dance on the corner of one of the busiest corners Provo, Utah for a half hour to whatever music the other chose.”
The result has gone viral, racking up more than 250,000 views since it was posted in late February.
Highlights include his Wilcox’s exuberant jump during “Call Me Maybe” and an attempt at breakdancing. But his joy is infectious: Early on in the video, he’s joined by a stranger, who sticks with him for the full 30 minutes. By the end of the video, two employees from a nearby store joined in, as well.
It was clear Wilcox had a good sense of humor about the whole thing, telling People magazine, “I probably won’t beat Shaquille O’Neal in a basketball game, but I would definitely beat him in a dance off.”
