BRIGHTON, Colo. — Brighton police officers joined in for the sixth annual St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser, shaving their heads to support children fighting cancer.

The event was held at the Brighton Boys and Girls Club, according to a press release from BPD Saturday.

Every year since 2009, Brighton police and firefighters from the Brighton Professional Firefighters Local 4477 have sponsored the fundraiser to help raise money for childhood cancer research.

This year, the police department said it raised over $7,7000.
