More than 130 brave cold weather for free Chick-fil-A for a year

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — More than 130 people lined up in freezing temperatures Wednesday morning at the new Chick-fil-A in the Highlands Ranch Town Center to try to win a year supply of Chick-fil-A food.

A drawing will be done for the 100 people who will win the prize as part of a Chick-fil-A First 100 event.

People were setting up tents to camp out for 24 hours in the parking lot ahead of the store’s grand opening Thursday. Those who make it through the 24-hour period will be entered in the drawing.

The First 100 event began in 2003 when the first standalone Chick-fil-A opened in Arizona.

The restaurant will open Thursday at 6 a.m.
