Teen girl uses mace on man who grabs her arm; suspect sought


DENVER — Denver Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a would-be kidnapper.

On Thursday about 3:50 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was approached by a black male with an unknown male next to him in the 3000 block of North Fillmore Street. The suspect tried to talk to the girl but became upset when he she wouldn’t engage in the conversation, police say.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s left arm and said, “Let’s go to my house.” The girl then sprayed the man in the face with pepper mace with an orange skin dye, possibly marking his face. The girl then ran to safety, police say.

The girl described the suspect as a black male about 20 years old, 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall, skinny, with short black hair, a chinstrap-type beard, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
