Person seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Capitol Hill

DENVER — A person was transported to a hospital with serious bodily injuries Tuesday morning after a hit-and-run accident at East 13th Avenue and Lafayette Street in the Capitol Hill area, the Denver Police Department said.

The accident happened about 7 a.m. when the driver of a stolen vehicle, while being pursued by police, ran a stop sign at the intersection and crashed into another vehicle.

The passenger in the hit-and-run vehicle was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle fled the scene on foot and as of 8:15 a.m. was still at large.
