Winter Park Resort extends ski season to April 27
WINTER PARK, Colo. — Winter Park Resort announced Wednesday it would keep its slopes open until April 27 because of the generous snowfall throughout the season.
Initially, the resort planned to end its ride season April 20. However, after over 28 feet of snow — landing just 7 inches from the historical average — it decided to extend the season a week.
In March alone, Winter Park Resort said it received over five feet of fresh powder, which will help sustain riding conditions through the new closing date.
Despite extending the season a week, the resort said its Springtopia celebration will still happen the weekend of April 19 through 20.
