NORTHGLENN, Colo. — A 2-year-old boy fell from a balcony at an apartment complex in Northglenn Saturday.

A spokesperson with North Metro Fire Department said the young boy was unconscious for a bit after he fell off a third-story balcony at Webster Lake Apartments at 11701 Washington St., but had regained consciousness by the time police and paramedics arrived on scene.

Northglenn police said the boy walked out onto the balcony after the sliding door was left open, and they believe the incident was an accident.

The boy was transported by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Aurora after his approximate 20-foot drop.

Shortly before 2 p.m., he remained at the hospital, but was alert and asking for his mother, said police.

Authorities said the case is under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
