Police arrest protestors in downtown Denver

DENVER — Police arrested about a half dozen protesters Saturday night in downtown Denver.

Shortly after 7:40 p.m. Saturday, the Denver Police Department said in a tweet that six arrests had been made in downtown Denver in connection to protests.

In a later tweet, DPD said pepper spray was used to stop people attempting to interfere with these arrests.

A spokesperson with DPD told FOX31 Denver the march started at Civic Center Park and went through downtown.

Police reported no damage or injuries during the incident, and added that law enforcement was present to ensure things did not get violent.

Later Saturday evening, Occupy Denver tweeted that the protests were not part of an Occupy Denver movement, stating it was an “anonymous Every 5th event.”
