Firefighters rescue deer that fell through the ice

EVERGREEN, Colo. — A pair of unlucky deer fell through the ice at Evergreen Lake Tuesday. They got lucky when members of Evergreen Fire Rescue came to save them.

The rescuers went onto the lake and used ropes, a chainsaw and other equipment to get the two deer out of the icy water.

The fire department shared pictures of the rescue on Twitter, and said the deer got out of the lake safely. “We expect them to have a great life ahead of them,” one post read.
