I-225 reopens at Parker Road after accident, diesel fuel spill

DENVER — One person was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a Honda became lodged under semi truck, forcing the closure of southbound Interstate 225.

The accident and a diesel fuel spill happened about 4:35 a.m. just south of Parker Road and forced the highway to be closed.

Officials reopened the two left-hand lanes of the interstate about 6:40 a.m. and the entire highway was reopened just after 8 a.m., though traffic in the area was still slow getting through the area.

The condition of the Honda driver, who was taken to the hospital, was not known.
