DENVER — Two major highways will see overnight closures this weekend for bridge work.

On Friday night, both directions of U.S. 36 will be closed from Interlocken Loop to McCaslin Boulevard to install a utility and bikeway bridge.

The closure will be from 10 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday. The Colorado Department of Transportation will have a detour in place.

On Saturday night, both directions of Sixth Avenue will be closed so workers can set girders for the new Knox Court bridge over the highway.

The highway will be closed between Federal Boulevard and Sheridan Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday.

Two westbound lanes will reopen at 7 a.m. Sunday, while the eastbound lanes will remain closed until 10 a.m.

CDOT is advising regional drivers to use Interstate 70, U.S. 285 and C-470 during the closures, while local traffic can use Alameda or Colfax avenues.
