BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies found the body of a woman Monday evening who had been missing from her home since Saturday.
The Sheriff’s office says it received a call from a residence in the 13200 block of North 87th Street with the caller saying there was a person lying in their alfalfa field. That was at 5:32 p.m. Monday.
The body has been identified as 31-year-old Jessica Shackelford.
Investigators say she left her home in Longmont on foot at about 8 p.m. Saturday after an argument with her husband.
Austin Shackleford told FOX31 Denver Monday night that she was not someone who would leave the kids for so long, even if she was upset with him.
She had left her purse and cell phone at home. But her driver’s license and debit card were missing from the purse. The card was last used at Pizza Hut at 2255 Main St. in Longmont Saturday.
Her body was found a little more than three miles from her home.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday and the coroner’s office will release the cause and manner of death when it is determined.
