Denver officer receives summons after prostitution investigation
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The Lakewood Police Department issued a Denver officer a summons after conducting a prostitution investigation.
The investigation began when members of the Lakewood Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team reported witnessing a 49-year-old female, known to be involved in prostitution, get into a car near W. Colfax Avenue and Ingalls street, according to police.
Officers said the vehicle left the area and drove into Denver. Shortly after, officers stopped the vehicle.
Detectives later identified Denver police officer Michael Ryan as the driver of the car.
After interviewing both parties, police said they believe Ryan had solicited the female for “prostitution-related activity.”
At the time of the incident, Ryan was not on duty, said LPD.
Wednesday, LPD detectives met with Ryan to issue him a summons for charges of soliciting a prostitute and patronizing a prostitute.
Police added that the case remains as an open-pending investigation.
