DENVER — A man pepper-sprayed an employee at a Denver shoe store and then ran away with cash Sunday.

Just after 3 p.m. Sunday, a man entered a DSW shoe store at Colorado Boulevard and E. Mexico Avenue, pepper-sprayed the store clerk and then took money from the cash register, according to the Denver Police Department.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, about 30-years-old, with buzz-cut hair. He wore a red shirt, jeans and black sunglasses.

He fled the scene of the crime in an unknown direction.

The store clerk is not believed to be seriously injured, said DPD spokesman Sonny Jackson.
