ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Police arrested a man Wednesday who is accused of impersonating an officer.

Investigators say Leslie Simpson has flashed a phony badge.

Real officers took him into custody along South Broadway in Englewood when someone called in to report his suspicious behavior.

It’s just the latest in a series of reported police impersonation cases.

There were two cases last month that involved fake traffic stops — one in Parker and one in Aurora. Both female victims in those cases got away unharmed.

There was a similar case in Sheridan last week. The female in that car drove away after the fake cop spooked her.
