BURLINGTON, Colo. — A 17-mile stretch of Interstate 70 on the Eastern Plains was closed in both directions Tuesday because of adverse weather, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

The highway was closed between Stratton (mile marker 419) and Burlington (mile marker 437) because of strong winds and blowing dust.

The stretch of roadway reopened shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to a tweet from CDOT.
