Off-duty dispatcher helps save Castle Rock family from house fire

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- An off-duty dispatcher helped save a family after their home caught fire early Thursday morning in Castle Rock.

The dispatcher, Nate Keller, had just dropped off a friend and was going home when he noticed a garage on fire about midnight at 2901 Summerfield Drive.

He rang the doorbell to alert the two adults and two children who had gone to sleep about two hours earlier.

The family and their dog were evacuated safely and the fire was contained to the garage area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries.
