CSP trooper struck by Hummer driven by distracted driver in Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- A Colorado State Patrol trooper has been released from the hospital after his patrol vehicle was struck by a Hummer driven by a distracted driver Friday morning, CSP said.

The accident happened at 7:45 a.m. on Highway 86 just east of Gilbert Street.

The trooper was transported to a hospital as a precautionary measure, CSP said. He was not seriously injured. About noon, CSP said the trooper was released from the hospital and was recovering at home.
