DENVER — The 43-year-old mother of four who was trapped inside a crashed car for a week says she does not remember much of the accident, her family said Thursday.
During a news conference at St. Anthony’s Hospital Kristin Hopkins’ family said she will likely be in the hospital for a month.
The family admitted they don’t know why Hopkins was in Park County to begin with. Her car crashed on U.S. 285 just north of Fairplay. She was trapped in the car for six days until she was found Sunday.
Doctors were forced to amputate both her feet. Hopkins’ family said she is very bruised but is recovering.
She has not yet seen her children, the family said.
