Broncos select a weapon for Manning in 2nd round of NFL draft
DENVER — The NFL draft continued Friday night and the Denver Broncos picked up a new weapon for Peyton Manning in the second round.
The team selected standout wide receiver Cody Latimer from Indiana with the 56th overall pick.
Denver traded with San Francisco to move up to pick him.
The Broncos gave up the 62nd pick in the second round and pick 171 in the fifth round along with a fourth round pick next year.
They also get the 242nd pick in the seventh round from the 49ers.
Later, Denver drafted Michigan tack Michael Schofield in the third round the 95th overall pick.
Colorado State University center Weston Richburg went to the New York Giants in the second round. CU wide receiver Paul Richardson went to the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in the second round.
The Baltimore Ravens selected CSU tight end Crockett Gillmore with the 99th overall pick in the third round.
