LONGMONT, Colo. — Two men were killed and two others were injured in a two-car accident Friday morning, forcing the closure of a main highway for more than 4 1/2 hours, Longmont Police said.

Highway 119 (Ken Pratt Boulevard) was closed in both directions between Third Avenue on the east and Martin Street on the west as crews investigated and cleaned up the accident, which happened about 6:20 a.m. The highway reopened just before 11 a.m.

Police advise an alternate for people trying to get into Longmont and especially those people traveling to Boulder for graduation ceremonies at the University of Colorado on Friday morning.

The two men who died were in a four-door black Pontiac and are between the ages of 30 and 35. A third adult passenger suffered minor injuries in the accident.

A 32-year-old woman from Dacono who was driving a four-door blue Jeep Liberty suffered minor injuries.

Police did not disclose a cause of the accident.
