Police reopen Colorado Boulevard after armed robbery incident

DENVER — Police set up a perimeter around a building in the 1400 block of South Colorado Boulevard after reports of an armed robbery with a barricaded suspect and possible hostages.

Police arrived at the Second Spin record store shortly after 3 p.m. An emergency notification call was sent to residents in the area, Denver Police Department said.

Colorado was closed between Iowa and Louisiana avenues for more than five hours.

Police would not confirm reports of hostages, or even the presence of a suspect, as of 4:30 p.m. Reporters saw major police reinforcements arriving shortly before 5 p.m.

Police cleared the scene at 8:25 p.m., arresting one suspect.
