BALTIMORE, Md. -- A man rammed a dump truck into a Baltimore television station then barricaded himself inside the building Tuesday morning.
Witnesses told WMAR-TV in Baltimore, Maryland the suspect was screaming to get into the WMAR-TV building at approximately 11:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time Tuesday.
Brian Kuebler, an investigative reporter with WMAR-TV, tweeted that the man was screaming "LET ME IN and said he was God."
After the suspect's unsuccessful attempt at entry, he rammed a dump truck into the front lobby of the television station three times then shut himself up inside, according to Kuebler.
Police reported that the man wore a backpack and said he may be armed.
Authorities also confirmed to WMAR-TV that the dump truck used by the suspect was stolen.
The building, located on the 6400 block of York Road in Baltimore, was evacuated and a nearby school, St. Pius X School, was placed on lockdown.
Staff members from the television station continued to tweet out updates with heightened urgency regarding the incident.
By 2 p.m. EST, SWAT crews had arrived on scene.
