One killed in two-vehicle accident on EB I-76 between Pecos and I-25

DENVER — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that involved a tractor-trailer on Interstate 76 on Tuesday morning, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-76 between Pecos Road and Interstate 25 just before 9 a.m.

A 2000 Chevrolet coupe and the tractor-trailer collided, killing the female driver of the Chevy, CSP said. There was no word on any injuries to the driver of the semi.

Both lanes of I-76 were closed with traffic getting by on the right shoulder. It was reopened just before 12:30 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation said.
