DENVER — The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of fires at the Woodhaven Apartments as arson, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.

The fires at the complex, located in the 7500 block of East Harvard Avenue, happened in the early morning hours of June 12, June 26 and Oct. 22 of 2013.

One person was badly injured during the October blaze.

In the June 12 incident, a man jumped from balcony to balcony to help several women and children who became trapped in their upper-level apartments. Jesse Rockwell was hailed as a hero at the time.

“My first thought was that I needed to help people,” Rockwell said. “I was going to do everything I could.”

Only minor injuries were reported in that fire, though 20 people were displaced.

ACSO asked that anyone with information about any of the fires call police immediately.
