JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A semi apparently had brake failure on I-70 and plunged off the highway onto South Golden Road Thursday evening.
A Colorado State Patrol spokesman says the driver was heading eastbound. Reports from the scene indicated he moved his truck onto the median in an effort to avoid crashing into other vehicles.
Troopers say some of the truck’s load of paper spilled onto the road.
The truck driver went to St. Anthony Hospital as a precaution. He had some bumps and bruises. No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.
It happened at around 5:30 p.m. Crews were just finishing cleaning up the wreck five hours later.
