HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Vandals are suspected in causing $5,000 worth of damage to Foothills Park after residents reported seeing several pieces of graffiti early Monday morning.
Foothills Park, which is surrounded by Highlands Ranch homes, was covered in symbols of intolerance hate. Cleanup crews spent most of Monday trying to remove any trace of the damage but are expected to return to the park on Tuesday to finish their work.
“I’m just really surprised … we’ve never seen anything like this before,” said one resident when asked about the damage.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible.
