New laser therapy offers weight-loss solution when diet, exercise don’t work

Maintaining a healthy weight is important when it comes to your health, but sometimes working out and eating right can only go far.  Many women are finding the answer to their weight-loss woes in the from of a new laser therapy called I-LIPO.

Dr. Angela Tran of Med-Fit Medical Weight Loss says the treatment can get rid of trouble spots that don’t respond to exercise.

“It creates a reaction so the contents of the fat cell actually leak out into your system to use for energy,” Tran says — once those contents leak out, the fat cells shrink.

Electrodes are placed on the thigh, abdomen or other areas where undesired fat pockets develop.

Patients can’t feel anything during the treatment, which burns approximately 300 calories and takes about ten minutes per area.

Individuals must exercise for 30 minutes within two hours after the laser application is completed.

Tran says many patients see immediate results and reach their goals after several treatments.

Yet, doctors warn that this is not a quick fix for weight loss.

Patients must maintain a healthy lifestyle which includes proper diet and exercise to enhance and maintain results.

I-LIPO is not recommended for pregnant women.
