How to help families of victims of Mesa County mudslide

COLLBRAN, Colo. — A fund has been set up for the families of the victims in the Mesa County mudslide.

Clancy Nichols, 51, Danny Nichols, 24, and Wes Hawkins, 46, have been missing since the massive slide occurred Sunday night and are presumed dead.

There are two bank accounts established in the names of Nichols and Hawkins at Grand Valley Bank.

Checks can be made out to the “Nichols Family” or the “Hawkins Family” and sent to:

Meanwhile, there will be a town hall meeting for citizens of Collbran on Thursday night, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Collbran Auditorium (corner of Main and High streets).
