DENVER — Colorado Rockies star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez underwent surgery Tuesday where doctors removed a tumor from his left index finger.

Doctors will perform a biopsy but this type of tumor in fingers is common and they’re benign in most cases.

Gonzalez will need a couple of weeks to heal before he can start getting ready to come back to playing.

He posted a picture and a message to Twitter after the surgery in Cleveland.
