DENVER -- Three people ran into a problem with the fast-moving water at Confluence Park in downtown Denver Tuesday night.

A husband, wife and daughter got caught up in the rushing water. The husband and wife made it to shore, but the girl was swept downstream in the South Platte River to the 15th Street Bridge.

Denver Firefighters threw her a rope, but a witness says she was unable to grab it. They threw her a second rope and she was able to latch onto that one and rescuers brought her to safety.

The aunt of the girl told FOX31 Denver photojournalist Angel Rosado the girl was wet and scared but alive and OK. The man and woman were OK, too.

The video of the rescue above was shot by Jesus Angel Pascual.
