JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Officials plan to lift the recreational activity restrictions on Clear Creek Thursday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Golden Police Department announced.

The limitations, which extended from Jefferson County’s western border at Highway 119 through the city limits of Golden to Vanover Park, went into effect May 30. Authorities banned the use of inflated devices, like belly boats, inner tubes and single-chamber rafts, due to high and fast-moving waters in the creek.

While the danger has diminished, deputies advised recreational users to still exercise extreme caution when using floatation devices in the waters.
