Sen. Mark Udall’s son pleads guilty to breaking into cars
DENVER —The son of Colorado Sen. Mark Udall pleaded guilty Thursday to burglary and trespassing after he was caught breaking into cars in January.
Jedediah Lee Fox-Udall, 26, was arrested in Eldorado Springs on Jan. 29. He was accused of trying to break into three vehicles, and of carrying heroin in his pocket.
Thursday’s plea does not include any drug charges, according to District Attorney Peter Weir. Fox-Udall received a four-year deferred sentence.
Mark Udall, a Democrat facing reelection this fall, issued a statement at the time of the arrest.
“Maggie and I are deeply distressed to learn of our son’s arrest,” Udall said. “We love our son and stand with him in his commitment to getting the treatment he needs. We appreciate the private space to deal with this as a family.”
