Aurora man accused of throwing fiancee’s dog off balcony during fight

AURORA, Colo. — An Aurora man allegedly killed his fiancee’s dog after throwing it off a third-floor balcony.

Harrison Lee Williams, 25, was booked into an Arapahoe County jail May 20 on felony aggravated animal cruelty charges and misdemeanor assault charges, according to the Aurora Sentinel.

An arrest affidavit said a neighbor called police on May 18 after hearing Williams and his fiancee fighting in their apartment in an Aurora complex near E. 14th Avenue and Peoria Street.

When officers responded to the scene, they found Williams’ fiancee on the balcony. She was crying and looking down on the body of her dog in the parking lot.

The fiancee told officers she and Williams had gotten into a fight after she returned home from a night out with friends. During the altercation, Williams reportedly assaulted her, choked her and pulled her hair so hard she bled.

Police told the Aurora Sentinel that no one witnessed Williams throwing the dog off the balcony. However, he reportedly took the animal out onto the balcony and didn’t have the dog with him when he returned, police said.

Prosecutors have accused Williams of intentionally killing his fiancee’s pet.

His fiancee told the newspaper she doesn’t believe Williams threw the dog over the balcony and didn’t comment on how the animal ended up in the parking lot of their apartment complex.
