CDOT crews clear mudslides, reopen U.S. 285 over Poncha Pass

CANON CITY, Colo. — Several mudslides on U.S. 285 at Poncha Pass caused minor damage to two vehicles and traffic delays along the roadway Tuesday.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the Colorado State Patrol in Canon City tweeted that three separate mudslides had occurred on U.S. 285 at Poncha Pass near mile marker 125.

CSP said overnight Colorado Department of Transportation crews cleared the highway and it was reopened.

CSP also reported that two cars had been damaged as a result of the mudslides, but there were no injuries.
